Get ready to celebrate ICARE’s 30th Anniversary!! It is not very often you would find a homeschool support group that has been around that long. Why? Because the legality of educating your children at home was being questioned before ICARE started. In 1985, the same year attorney Shelby Sharpe on behalf of several home school families filed a lawsuit against all the school districts in Texas asking the court to declare judgment that home schools are private schools, a group of families here in Spring, Texas came together for mutual Christian support in homeschooling their children. That was the beginning of the Independent Christian Association of Responsible Educators – our most beloved group, ICARE!
ICARE’s foundation was for God’s purposes and glory to be manifested in a group of families that chose to home educate their children and to join arms with one another on the journey. We each have been so blessed to be His hands and feet and at times voice. He began it, He protected it, and He will continue it. Thirty years from when those families first came together, we are coming together in that same Christian support and will be celebrating all that God has done for us through ICARE.

Join us for a BBQ Dinner on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 21434 E. Hardy Rd., Houston, TX 77090. We will reminisce of the past 30 years as well as celebrate what is happening in ICARE today.
